Nominations for the first four stakes in this year’s Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred Championships Series close May 8.
All four races will be held at Pimlico Race Course May 18-19 as part of Preakness Stakes week. They are the $100,000 Skipat Stakes (fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, at six furlongs) and the $100,000 Jim McKay Turf Sprint (3-year-olds and up at five furlongs on the turf) on May 18, and the $100,000 The Very One Stakes (fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up at five furlongs on the turf) and the $150,000 grade III Maryland Sprint Stakes (3-year-olds and up at six furlongs) on May 19.
